My experience in mechanical design it´s related with the development of an equipment used to calculate bolt torsion resistance, according to EN 14399-2:2005, using Autodesk Inventor. I had to analyse the regulation and develop bespoke components along with stress analysis in order to design the whole equipment. A programmed excel spreadsheet with VBA macros would import the data and develop an automated report. That spreadsheet was needed to meet the ISO quality standards. The equipment is now being used and several bolts have been tested. I have experience developing HVAC and energy efficiency projects. I’ve development building simulations (ESP-r and design builder software’s), thermal charge calculations, determination of fresh air needs for each technical space and duct and pipeline sizing for different HVAC applications. Selection of HVAC bespoke systems for each installation and set-up of technical specifications. I’ve also developed energy efficiency projects by calculating the energy rating of buildings. Experience issuing project budgets either to mechanical design and HVAC projects. Development of bill of materials and technical specifications. Contact with suppliers and cost benefit analysis. In the research field, I was a key member of the team that researched and developed the Portuguese windows energy rating scheme (www.seep.pt). My inputs were related to the technical development of the windows performance in all Portuguese climatic zones. Have published a conference paper using this research. I was also responsible for the development of European projects coordinating with other European partners when applying for European and national funds. Regarding programming skills, I have programming experience in LabVIEW and VBA (Excel macros) for different applications.

- Master Thesis Research graduated with 17 out of 20. “Design of a mechanism to measure and analyse the sand pile deformation as a result of wind erosion”. - Mechanical Design and Programming. My experience in mechanical design is related with the construction of a traverse system using ball screws driven by electrical motors. The electrical motors would move the traverse system to have movement in ordinates and abscissa axis. Attached to one of the ball screw was a laser sensor. Those motors and the laser sensor were controlled by a program that I had to develop using LabVIEW. The program controlled the laser distance sensor and the traverse system to allow 3D measurement of deforming sand piles.
