Ed Katz, MPA, company founder, writer, speaker, inventor, and business coach for more than 40 years. Ed has been a leader in the moving and storage industry since 1976. Currently, Ed is the President of the International Office Moving Institute (IOMI®), an organization dedicated to educating moving company executives and their staff on the best practices of the highly profitable office moving industry. In 1976, Ed founded Peachtree Movers in Atlanta and operated the business for nearly 24 years. Peachtree Movers was chosen “Number 1” in office moving by the Gallop Poll and received the coveted Atlanta Consumer’s Choice Award. Ed sold his office moving inventions to move companies across the USA, Canada, Australia, and the UK. Ed is a well-known and respected moving & storage industry veteran. It has been said, that if you could pick someone to teach you how to become a successful office mover, it would be Ed Katz. In 1987, Ed saw the opportunity to educate moving companies to be more efficient and profitable with moving offices and formed the International Office Moving Institute (IOMI). International Office Moving Institute offers low-cost, targeted office moving courses. The impactful program offers online and in-person training courses that are specifically designed for movers, sales, marketing, admin, and customer service staff. Over the past 35 years, the International Office Moving Institute has educated well over 1000 moving company executives and their staff. Ed’s claim to fame, though, is that he’s made each mistake only once. Whenever Ed overcame a business crisis, he asked himself a very important question, “What can I do to prevent this from happening again?” By focusing on this proactive approach, he developed procedures to prevent recurring problems from becoming crises.
