- Proposed novel deep learning algorithms for bilingual handwritten digit recognition called Threshold Center-Symmetric Local Binary Convolutional Neural Networks (TCS-LBCNN). o Enhancing the performance of the Local Binary Convolutional Neural Networks (LBCNN) in terms of accuracy. o Tuning the hyperparameters of the models to acquire better performance. - Proposed enhanced models using the sliding windows approach. o The approach was applied to several feature extraction techniques, including Mean-based, Gray-Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM), Moment-based, Edge Direction Histogram (EDH), LBP, CS-LBP, CS-LTP, CS-LMP, and U2LBP. o Support vector machine (SVM) and random forests were used as classifiers.

Graduate Student Researcher
Dhahran, Eastern, Saudi Arabia
ML Researcher (Master Thesis) : - Proposed novel methods for recognizing gender based on image-face using statistical features that can represent the face landmarks. These features are GIST, pyramid histogram of oriented gradients, GIST based on discrete cosine transform, and principal component analysis. - Suggested an extension of feature extraction technique based on statistical aggregation and Gabor filters. - Applying several machine learning algorithms to evaluate the proposed features, including MLP, SVM, K*, Rotation Forest, DECORATE, Logistic Model Tree, and k-NN classifiers. - Tuning the parameters of the used classifiers to obtain better performance.
