Taught middle school and high school students the basics of engineering (e.g. circuits, soldering, buoyancy, simple machines, programming, physics)

Amit Lal SonicMEMS Lab Facilitated development of an ultrasonic neural probe for real time electromechanical histology of neural interfaces. Conducted experiments to determine optimal ultrasonic frequencies to reduce the damaging effects of the neural probe at point of insertion.

Olbricht and Lewis Ultrasound Lab Designed, built, and tested low intensity therapeutic ultrasonic (LITUS) devices. Conducted clinical human studies at Cayuga Medical Center to observe the effects of LITUS on pain and healing time associated with recovery from venous stasis leg ulcers. Presented results of clinical study at the 2011 annual BMES convention in Hartford, CT.

Built a control simulator in C++ to streamline USB3 camera development and production testing. Improved the run time of a color calibration algorithm by a factor of two and implemented it in an image processing pipeline.

Provided support for software, quality assurance, and production teams for initial rollout of new products. Designed GUI’s and application workflow using Java, C++, and open source libraries.

Commercial Civil Space, Human Spaceflight, Advanced Programs

Designed system architecture and wrote MSP430 firmware in C for a field test device simulating rSO2 sensors. Created a library of requirements and risks using Polarion ALM tool for pulse oximetry product development. Built an application in C++ using Win32 to demonstrate UI functionality of a future patient monitoring product.

Course: ECE 4760 Designing with Microcontrollers Conducted lab sessions, provided consulting hours, and graded labs and projects for a class of 112 students.
