Technical staff member in Actinide Analytical Chemistry. Develop and maintain electrochemical, spectroscopic, and chromatographic techniques for actinide assay. Research and development of novel separation systems coupled with plasma-based analyses. Lead small teams of staff, post-doctoral researchers, and students.

Basic and applied actinide research. Projects included the effects of ion substitution on the structural and physical properties of synthetic actinide compounds and their relationships with mineral analogs, design of ionothermal methods for the synthesis of actinide inorganic and organic-inorganic compounds, and size-selective separation of uranyl peroxide clusters from solutions of dissolved simulated used nuclear fuel (SIMFUEL). Laboratory research included independent design and implementation of experimental and analytical procedures. Additional role as a research mentor for undergraduate research assistants working concurrently on the projects listed above. Teaching assistant in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences. Experience with lecture, lab, and field components of geoscience classes including mineralogy, sedimentary geology, and geology field course.

Environmental radiochemistry research - Investigating molecular-scale interactions of radionuclide species in aqueous media and with natural and engineered solids. Process development for advanced separation techniques. Co-management and oversight of the Clemson Environmental Radiochemistry Laboratories - Laboratory survey and design, instrument training, operation, maintenance of ICP-MS, LSC, DLS, commissioning and maintenance of anaerobic glove boxes.
