The primary goal of Walnut technology was to act as an interface between non-technical people with an idea and the technology itself. This may be simple as working out the details of a custom LED display. Other solutions may also be as abstract as designing technology that reacts to people walking through the space in an art gallery and to react to them as the move through the space. Solutions often would deal with the "what ifs" that can happen in public spaces. How to deal with reliability and durablity issues of installing technology in hostile locations. At the Learning Innovations department. LIAD is a department designed to provide a place where teachers can develop new curriculum as well as its delivery mechanism. This may mean developing an online course or a new self study video course. LIAD made use of the internet, satellite, live video conferencing, and video for its delivery methods. My responsibilities included. -Satellite Downlink setup. -Video conferencing studio installation and setup, training and maintenance (4 6 line ISDN studios) -website coding support and training -PC and Mac support -Video Editing support. -Maintenance of all technologies in the department. -Research of new technologies.

Started in the Electronics department and later moved to the Learning Innovations department. As a Technologist my responsibilities included. -Managing repairing hardware. -Supervising and assisting students where required. -Designing some of the test labs as well as curriculum. -Microcomputer board repair. -Building/Designing the netcoms classroom laboratory. -Local network and computer lab maintenance (arc-net/Ethernet) -Maintain backup the local servers (Novel,NT)
