Designing topology; geometry, size, angle, material stack, refractive index to tune/focus maximum of the available light into the active absorber. Simulation of electrical performances of devices under specified optical generation profiles. Simulation Group has a multi-physics research concentration since the main motivation of GUNAM is to provide solar cells with the highest efficiency and the lowest cost, coupling optical and electronic performance of devices during the design process is a must. Hence, my designs take into account the multi-physics nature of solar cells as well as fabrication constraints such as Design for Manufacturing (DFM), typical fabrication limitations. Optics: In-couplers, out-couplers, waveguide designs, combiner designs, surface grating designs, light emitter designs, multi-optics simulations, numerical analysis of complex optical problems, developing numerical and analytical tools for large electromagnetic problems, combining of ray and wave optics.
