Contracted to analyze and publish recent Phase 3 clinical extension trial data supporting the safety and efficacy of their primary drug candidate, lorecivivint, as a potential treatment for knee osteoarthritis.

I was a senior med writer in the Global Medical Communications team, primarily working with the Pfizer Vaccine team. I worked on a variety of project types, from internal slide decks to manuscripts, to help ICON's clients report their clinical trial data and keep track of their products' performance. I also worked with our clients on their scientific strategy and publication planning.

I wrote or co-wrote ~23 document-equivalents/year mostly comprising manuscripts, abstracts, and posters, but assisted regulatory with editing/proofing their CSRs and study protocols/amendments when necessary. I also supported the Director and VP of Medical Affairs by mentoring junior writers, moderating a companywide meeting providing scientific updates and competitor intelligence, and assisting in publication planning and strategy meetings.

I wrote or helped wrote, edited, and proofread various kinds of documents - mostly manuscripts documenting our clinical trial results at the moment - to allow Biosplice Therapeutics' scientists to focus on the company's biomedical/scientific goals. Biosplice Therapeutics is developing first-in-class small-molecule drugs which regulate alternative pre-mRNA splicing to treat osteoarthritis, various tumor types, and some neurological degenerative disorders including Alzheimer's disease.

I supported clients with writing, editing, marketing, and scientific conceptualization on a contract basis. Most of my work involved editing grants and manuscripts for language and concepts, creating marketing communications, writing portions of regulatory submissions, and consultation/SWOT assessment of proposed scientific methodologies and directions.

I've subbed for all grade levels, even including Transitional Kindergarten, and for classes ranging from Special Ed to Advanced Placement, including a couple vocational classes (welding and construction). Each experience was a little different: -- For K-5, I taught coursework based on their regular teachers' lesson plans. -- For Middle School/Junior High, it's a mix of teaching, independent study, and classroom management. -- For High School, it's mostly classroom management but can include individual/small group tutoring.

I was junior faculty at one of the largest graduate schools for the health professions in CA. I reported to the Dean, Graduate College of Biomedical Sciences. I performed biomedical research and related grant/publication writing (70%) with additional teaching/mentoring and service committee responsibilities.

Concurrent with my faculty position, I managed the microscopy core facility, which had (among others) a confocal microscope, epifluorescence/brightfield microscope, and digital workstation (Nikon-based hardware/software).

I managed the daily operations of the PI's biomedical research lab, performing experiments, training lab staff, publishing (4 first-author manuscripts among others), and writing grant and regulatory (IACUC) documents with minimal/no supervision.

I performed all the same duties as a senior postdoctoral fellow, but with greater oversight from the PI.

While working at Stanford, I curated (analyzed and sorted via informatics) genome fragments to help Celera complete its part of the Human Genome Project.

I was responsible for performing experiments in the narcolepsy research lab, as well as training technicians, presenting and publishing data, and assisting senior lab members in grant writing.
