Dr. Trygve Burchardt

Extensive background within technology management, development and research in technology innovation projects and companies. Demonstrated history and strong entrepreneurship professional skills from working in the renewables and environment industry, medical technology, materials technology, construction industry, oil and gas and automotive. Broad international experience and network from working in countries such as Norway (10 years), Switzerland (3 years), Germany (1 year), Belgium (1 year) and the last 5 years in the USA. Has published about 40 papers, holds a large number of patents in several fields and has supervised a number of PhD/MS students. Dr. Burchardt is the CEO of ECO HOME AS. The company is offering affordable energy storage by repurposed EV batteries. Agder Energy Venture purchased shares to become the majority owner of ECO HOME in 2019. Dr. Burchardt is also founder, president and chairman of companies in the medical field and owner of a successful incubator InCube AS. In prior work, Burchardt was the CTO / Founder of Biim Ultrasound. The company licensed a patent from Florida Atlantic University to develop a handheld ultrasound medical device, raising about $7 million in soft funding and investor capital. ReVolt Technology was founded by Burchardt in 2004. The company focused on research and development of new battery technology for a range of applications. As CTO, Burchardt was in charge of several development programs with large OEMs in fields ranging from electric vehicles to mobile phone, laptop, power tools, hearing aids etc. ReVolt raised more than €20 million in venture capital. In addition Burchardt was a key player in securing €23.5 million in soft funding (competitive grants, tax credits, loans, and financing) from USA and Germany aimed at next generation EV range extender and energy storage solutions. Burchardt was the ARPA-E BEEST award winner and GRIDS runner up, winner of DnB Innovation Final in 2005 and a number of other clean tech. awards.
