• Led multitude of technical, operational & business interactions with External and internal customers, Business development, Program Managers and department heads. • Managed on-going projects with global customers (NA, Europe, APAC in Specialties such as: Polymers & materials, med devices, contact lenses, Silicones, elastomers, Pharmaceuticals etc), • Managed a P&L of about several million US dollars. • Led the general management of the department, laboratory safety including 5S programs, and 3rd-party interactions. • Initiated and lead efforts to facilitate strategy discussions to integrate our (Polymer department) business processes with other BUs of the CRO, Biocon/Syngene. Led a team of 35 SMEs, Scientists and Engineers. • Led the talent acquisition, management and development for the department. • Initiated and maintained a system to track, and evaluate the RFPs (request for proposal), to improve operational efficiency of polymer business unit. • Initiated sustainability endeavors, oversaw the expansion of facilities including polymer and materials lab.

• Initiated and scaled up Sweat resistant reflective tape after screening 20+ technologies across the corporation. Set up a test trial plan with marketing and sales. Retroreflective technology- Scotchlite Brand • Earned the coveted Genesis grant- corporate level out of 95000+ innovators at the time for developing nonwoven based retroreflective prototype • Lead initiatives with sustainable and high performance attributes: reduce weight of the tapes, by replacing glass beads by bubbles, reformulation of tape matrix with greener solvents, crosslinkers, curing mechanisms • Lead Hiring and Mentoring through corporate wide STEM initiatives (STEP and TWIST)

• Initiated a TiO2 project/effort, as part of corporate wide challenge to tackle Supply shortage of this key ingredient. Part of the effort lead to collaboration with Argex Mining. • Proposal writing (Structural adhesives, Industrial/Coil coatings) for internal funding to Corporate team • Quality management: Internal Audit, identification of gaps in internal processes • Initiated various sustainability efforts: Reformulate to reduce pigment usage in paints; polymer synthesis for low VOC applications • Lead a defense project, to prolong the life of airplane windows by reducing electric discharge by using Nanomaterials. MWCNTs were functionalized, and dispersed in the basecoat of the windows. • Lead/mentored a group of 3 junior scientists & technicians. Participated in hiring of Scientists and technicians.

• Set up Research and development lab for polymer synthesis and characterization, for Industrial and architectural coatings • Lead polymer synthesis scientist for DTM (direct to metal) coatings: a sustainable, low VOC, corrosion resistant, high performance (gloss, hardness, adhesion, water resistance) • Hands on experience in scaling up lab scale 250 mL to 20 L in pilot plant • Innovation in JONCRYL resin technology for expanding applications • Certified in BPI Sigma logic : Applying business process improvement in R&D • Hiring, development and performance management of technicians
