My current work sounds different....removing one waste from another waste utilising the oxidative environment of high voltage electric discharge plasma.... Tackling gaseous waste pollutants by first oxidising them through plasma and then adsorbing the same in porous pellets made out of solid industrial waste... Last year (2024) I started a new internship programme on utilising plasma for treating the seeds before sowing. While the technology is not new for China, Japan and Korea, it is still at a lab level in India. It has been reported that the crop yield has increased significantly along with increase in healthiness of plants. Through the IISc internship I am taking this research out of lab and directly to land. Hoping that one day our Indian farmers get benefitted through the awareness I am creating utilising the channel of: Students across country-their faculty guides-their faculty colleagues in agri univ-their friends in govt circles or policy making bodies-initiation of trials-implementation of plasma treatment technique.
