I’m Dr. Nilesh Priyadarshi, Founder of Kaarigar Clinic — India’s first rural business clinic dedicated to artisans. My mission is clear and transformative: to move artisans from the margins to the mainstream — not as beneficiaries of aid, but as entrepreneurs, leaders, and system builders in the creative economy. Over the years, I worked with leading NGOs and corporates in the craft sector. But behind the glossy reports and successful pilots, one truth stood out: artisans were still being left behind. So I stepped away from the boardroom and into the field — speaking with over 5,000 artisans across India. What I heard changed everything. They didn’t ask for charity. They asked for identity. Value. Recognition. Visibility. Voice. That became the seed of Kaarigar Clinic — a mentorship-powered movement that equips artisans with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to build sustainable, identity-rooted enterprises.
