Dr. Nicola Okech

Dr. Nicola Okech is a Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist at Uzwena Health with over 15 years experience working as a medical doctor. She has experience in managing adult patients with Type 1, 2, Gestational as well as other forms of diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal and pituitary diseases as well as other general medical conditions. Dr. Nicola’s interest lies in the medical management of persons living with overweight and obesity and in this regard, she aims set up structured multidisciplinary programs to help patients cope with the medical and psychological impact of overweight and obesity while also advocating for adoption of national and global policies to reduce the prevalence of this chronic condition. Her passions lie in leadership and mentorship as well as providing access to specialist care particularly in the areas of nutrition and exercise for those in her community. She an active member of Kenya Diabetes Study group where she holds the role of secretary, is a member of Kenya Association of Physicians and founding fellow of East Central and South African College of Physicians (ECSACOP).
