Dr. Musadik Malik

Senator Dr. Malik is currently serving as the Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination for the Government of Pakistan. He has previously served as the Federal Minister for Water Resources, Federal Minister for Petroleum, and Federal Minister for Power and Water. He has also served as the Minister of State for Petroleum, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister and Spokesperson of two successive Prime Ministers. He has been a senator for two successive terms, and headed the Senate Committee for Water Resources. Dr. Malik previously was an international consultant with over 25 years of strategy consulting experience in economic transformation, public sector reform, healthcare / life sciences, education / innovation ecology and labor market reforms. Dr. Malik has served as the Managing Director of Boston Innovation Partners. He led CRA International (Charles River Associate) in the Middle East as the Vice President and Regional Director. He has previously held senior positions at Arthur D. Little (USA) and SRI Consulting / SRI International (USA). As a management consultant, he has advised global political leaders including Prime Ministers and Senior Cabinet Ministers of numerous countries. Dr. Malik has provided strategic guidance to CEOs/Boards of private sector organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies in the US to the largest oil & gas corporations in the Middle East through various stages of strategic renewal. He served as the Chairman of the Boards of multi-billion dollar corporations including Pakistan LNG Company (PLL), Pakistan State Oil Corporation (PSO), and Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO). He was appointed as the Adjunct Professor of Strategy at King Saud University, and taught strategy at King Fah’d University for Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in the Executive MBA program. He regularly teaches senior civil service officers at the National School of Public Policy. Dr. Malik completed his Post-Doctoral Fellowship, Ph.D., M.S. and MBA at the University of Illinois. He has widely presented policy analyses, frameworks, and recommendations at international conferences, and in senate and cabinet meetings.
