Dr. Mahmood Ali (Alex)

My research experience combines cancer biology with virology, focusing on the development of new therapies.Extensive experience with Lentivirus/AAV upstream/downstream process development, cGMP production, technology transfer, assay development/validation, and project management in Pharmaceutical industry. Highly organized and self-motivated with expertise in Virology, Immunology and Molecular Biology. Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills to ensure rigorous scientific, technical and product quality expectations are achieved. I am particularly experienced with tumor-destroying viruses as a potential therapy for cancer. I have investigated how epigenetic drugs might be used to enhance the effectiveness of herpes simplex virus against metastatic breast cancer. Additionally, I have completed projects to evaluate an replicating virus for the treatment of Hearing loss, breast cancer bone metastasis and an immune-activating virus as a therapy . I have also completed or collaborated on projects involving NIPT. Reproductive health issues,ovarian, and brain cancers. I have worked to develop a broad range of writing, teaching, and business-related skills and am always interested in learning new things.
