I am the Founder of GERI CARE, India's 1st Integrated Health Care Institution dedicated to the Care, Nursing, Treatment, Rehabilitation and Well being of Elderly (Geriatric) citizens. Along with my Co Founder, other Geriatricians and Specialists Colleagues, we provide 360 degree continuum care which is fundamental to the holistic & comprehensive management of the health of the elderly people. What is this Continuum Care? Simply put - Elders usually have more than one health issue + ageing related conditions. These require a deeper understanding of the physiology, psychology, emotional condition & historical health. Their rehab, recuperation, recovery & well being is usually slower & longer. It is therefore essential to adopt a holistic Care plan drawn up by Qualified Geriatricians & delivered suitably. Mainstream health care systems are not yet fully mature to adopt this approach & so it has become an urgent need for Geriatricians to establish most appropriate Protocols and Processes to manage the health of the Elderly. We at Geri Care have taken it upon ourselves to pioneer this effort in India.
