Risk and Compliance

On August 20, 2019, I was nominated for a four-year term as a Board Member (Non-Executive) of Business Partners International Africa LLC (“BPI Africa”, formerly "BPI East Africa") by the FMO. Effective July 1, 2020, I was appointed a member of the Board Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) of Business Partners International Africa LLC by BPI EA’s Board of Directors. Effective February 1, 2021, I was appointed Chairman of the Board Audit and Risk Committee of Business Partners International Africa LLC by BPIA’s Board of Directors and have since served a 4 year (two terms) as the Committee Chairman (tenor elapsed March 13, 2025). BPI East Africa (with subsidiaries in Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya) is a risk finance company that supports SME growth by providing financing (debt, equity and technical assistance), specialist sectoral knowledge and added-value services to viable SMEs in sub-Saharan Africa. The company is owned by several shareholders that include; The FMO (Dutch), NORFUND (The Norwegian Investment Fund for Developing Countries), DOEN Participates B.V. (Dutch Impact Investor), International Finance Corporation (IFC), Mennonite Economic Development Associates – MEDA (Canada), Swiss Investment Fund For Emerging Markets – SIFEM (Swiss) and a private sector managing partner, Business Partners International Limited (South Africa, with additional subsidiaries in Malawi, Namibia, and Zambia).

NiBUCAA was established in 2003 as Nigeria's private sector's response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic, and since its founding has led over 30 businesses in Nigeria (with a commitment to fight the HIV and AIDS pandemic) at all levels of intervention within the health system and the private sector workforce. NiBUCAA has worked with National and International partners to identify key strategic gaps for intervention that guarantee the highest impact and harnessed private sector resources for interventions focused on achieving the National Framework on ending HIV in Nigeria.

The HIV Trust Fund of Nigeria is a US$150 Million private sector led Trust Fund set up to ensure sustainable mobilization of resources from the private sector towards the funding of HIV programs across Nigeria. The fund is devoted mainly to funding strategic inputs such as Anti-Retroviral drugs, Test Kits, Reagents, and the logistics to deliver these commodities, and focused on the prevention of mother-to-child-transmission of the virus.

Financial Advisory, Affordable Housing, Independent and General Management Consultancy. o As the founder and CEO of this full-scope and pre-eminent Financial Advisory and Management Consulting firm, my key role is to drive the company’s strategic plans and policies, serve as the firm’s number 1 marketing officer, provide clients with comprehensive specialist financial, economic and strategic advice on complex business problems and transactions, and breathe life into clients’ strategy and business models to enhance competitiveness and efficiency, and deliver desired corporate results. o Served as a key member of the Finance Sub Committee of the Imo State Transition Technical Committee (assignment concluded May 27, 2019).

Primarily responsible for Access Bank Plc's SME clients in Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Edo and Delta States of Nigeria

As the Deputy Managing Director of Access Bank (Rwanda) Limited, I am primarily and directly responsible for executing the Bank’s Business Level Strategy and share the responsibility of developing and implementing the Corporate Level strategy with the Managing Director. On the executive level, I report to the Group Deputy Managing Director of Access Bank Plc. (through the Managing Director Access Bank Rwanda) who also Chairs the Board of Access Bank (Rwanda) Limited.

As the Managing Director and CEO of Access Bank (Zambia) Limited, I was primarily responsible for executing the Bank’s strategic plans and policies as established by the Board of Directors. On the executive level, I reported to the Group Executive Director (of Access Bank Plc) in charge of Subsidiaries who also sat on the Board of Access Bank (Zambia) Limited.

In charge of the Bank’s Corporate Finance & Structured Finance and Capital Markets business units. My following key achievements within the period were as follows; o Set-up Access Bank’s Global Financial Markets Group. o Developed Access Bank’s Affordable Housing Finance Strategy. o Transformed the Bank’s Corporate and Structured Finance business into very profitable business lines with a PBT of over N1 Billion (over US$6.6 Million) for the 2007/8 financial year. o Project Director, Access Bank’s 2007 Public Offer of N70 Billion (total Offer subscription was N240 Billion, over 242% over subscription). o Member, Access Bank’s Capital Raising Committee in charge of the Local Public Offer and the OTC GDR out of London. Received total quotes of US$1.95 Billion for a GDR offer size of US$250 Million. o Financial Advisor to the Federal Housing Authority on the National Affordable Housing Finance Scheme. The Model has since been designed and presented to Mr. President on August 21, 2007 and a high powered implementation Committee set-up. o Member Presidential Implementation Committee on Affordable Housing. o Appointed a Resource Person on Title and Mortgage Insurance to the Federal Ministry of Environment, Housing and Urban Development. o Developed the Police Barracks / Housing Finance Model for the Federal Housing Authority (FHA).

Seconded by Access Bank to the FMO on a one year contract to serve as a Senior Investment Officer in FMO’s Africa Department. I was a key member of the FMO Affordable Housing Team and contributed significantly to the profitability of the Africa Department’s Financial Sector cluster and the Africa Department as a whole, handling key deals in countries like Ghana, Uganda and South Africa.

As Regional Manager of Port Harcourt & Bayelsa Region, I currently supervise 10 commercial banking business teams (with a total of 54 professional staff) responsible for total assets in excess of N25 Billion (approximately US$150 Million).
