• Providing leadership in operations of the Centre for Applied Research & Innovation • Successfully delivering of applied research projects on the campus; • Building and supporting the College’s applied research infrastructure (facilities, technical, human resource, administrative) to support applied research activities; • Promoting and developing an applied research identity consistent with the College’s strengths, infrastructure and strategic plan priorities; • Identifying and encouraging applied research opportunities through leadership on relevant committees, leading to the integration of applied research into academic activities. • Identifying and developing the industry and academic partnerships in the area of applied research

-Independently analyse, interpret, negotiate and process research awards and agreements -Ensure negotiation balance the legitimate needs of sponsors with researcher interests and University principles -Authorize release of funds after meeting sponsor terms & conditions

• Design, development and deliver training programs • Prepare course outlines, class assignments and Power Point files for each module • Prepare instructions for conducting team activities during class and define assessment criteria for each module • Create lesson plans, deliver lectures and conduct assessments for effective delivery

The Research, Innovation, Commercialization Centre (RICC) is a not-for-profit organization that supports the development of innovation and entrepreneurship in Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon. Since its inception, the RIC Centre has worked with over 750 companies to take technical innovations to market. • Work with RICC incubator tenants - the start-up clients, assisting them in business planning & strategy • Conduct market research and competitor analysis • Advise clients on ways to tackle the entry barriers

Technology commercialization and Innovation management: • Business Development and Technology Marketing • R&D Planning and Project Management • Industry & Academia liaison • Information Dissemination • Techno-legal documentation-agreements, contracts, MoU's • Technical & financial negotiations for technology licensing Research Work: • Investigated the interfacial interactions between polymer and inorganic moieties for detection of polyphenol-catechin in tea extract • Studied the growth kinetics of zinc oxide nanorods, fabricated nanohybrid film for detection of flouride and arsenic in water • Explored for semiconductor oxide nano-hybrid films of polyaniline and polypyrene for sensor applications • Electro-optical characterization for composites • Feature extraction and pattern recognition computational techniques & associated calibration/validation modeling • Characterization of hybrid films for sensing taste and aroma of tea
