About
As a dedicated researcher with deep expertise in neurodegenerative disorders, I am passionate about unraveling disease mechanisms and advancing targeted diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. My PhD thesis focused on elucidating the role of optineurin gene mutations linked to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Through cellular studies and whole exome sequencing of Indian ALS patient DNA, we investigated the underlying pathways and explored innovative approaches to mitigate disease impact. In Sun Pharma, some important studies were optimised and conducted in neurodegenerative disorder field by applying some recent biological technology, and I worked as a Scientist and then also as a project investigator. Currently, I am leading techno-commercial initiatives at Topia Lifesciences Ltd. and Topia Medtech Ltd., launching a cutting-edge neurodiagnostic software designed to empower early and precise identification of neurological disorders. Driven by curiosity and a results-oriented approach, I remain committed to collaborative R&D and business development, striving to bridge the gap between scientific discovery and real-world patient care. It’s been a rewarding experience leading a research project from inception, spanning in-vitro cellular differentiation to detailed marker studies via immunofluorescence on human and mouse brain tissues. Had an collaboration regarding ALS patients research with Prof. Anurag who was the neuro doctor for all neurodegenerative conditioned patients. Thanks to AIIMS Delhi for this collaboration with IIT Delhi, because of which we did an extensive Whole exome sequencing research for Indian ALS patients and found different mutations.
