S.T.I.G.M.A Consulting Group, LLC is a company to assist school systems, teachers, administrators and parents in all aspects of working with children with disabilities. We ensure children receive their proper mandated services to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Advise the State Education Agency (SEA) in developing and implementing policies relating to the Coordination of services for children with disabilities. Counsel the SEA in developing evaluations and reporting on data to the secretary under section 618 of the Disabilities Education Act.

• Supervise a team of sixty teachers, twelve support staff and 500+ students at a K-5 elementary school. • Model and assist teachers with lesson plans and units for instruction while ensuring use of technology tools. • Liaise with cafeteria, custodial and operations staff on a daily basis, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment for all school members. • Lead the instructional, attendance and dean team meetings to embed a positive school culture. • Organize and present innovative instructional strategies at professional development meetings. Conduct pre- and post-conferences with teacher evaluations and observations.

Spearhead instructional support for Superintendents in support of their district action plans focused on Special Education, RTI, AIS and bilingual programs. Liaise with Central Offices on Pre-K, Special Education, ELL, Renewal School to ensure improved work processes and increased information flow. Direct the creation and implementation of new policies and procedures to ensure inquires, operations, compliance and supports for Special Education and ELLs are provided to the Borough Field Support Centers. Manage day-to-day Special Education/ELL Cluster support, Special Education reform implementation and compliance, ELL compliance, ELL support service, Impartial Hearing processes and escalations. Collaborate with the Division of Special Instruction and Student Support (DSISS) and the Office of English Language Learners (OELL) to plan the implementation of policy initiatives to leverage necessary supports and resources citywide.

Conducted inter-visitations with teachers to provide coaching and feedback for professional growth. Created professional development on instructional strategies aligned with the Danielson Framework. Collaborated with transition specialist to improve transition planning and services for student body. Led the 8th grade curriculum team meetings regarding C.C.S.S. standards, assessments and instruction. Managed an action plan to address long term absences at Middle School 217.

Composed and monitored a compliance system to ensure execution and review of IEP’s. Created a case manager list, provided monthly compliance memorandum’s and set up IEP meetings with teachers, parents and students. Created and facilitated professional development for principals, teachers and parents on SESIS, quality IEP goal writing and differentiated instruction. Steered work of paraprofessionals providing weekly feedback regarding instruction and crisis management.

Reviewed student promotion portfolios to assess student performance in support of the Community Superintendent during the promotion review process. Prepared assessments of school performance based on promotion portfolio review according to specified benchmarks and requirements. Provided feedback to school administrators to improve promotion portfolios for the 2012-2013, 2011-2012 and 2010-2011 school years.

Supported students with disabilities, improving academic and functional achievement in order to facilitate students’ movement from middle school to high school. Mentored new teachers in lesson planning, implementation of ELA and Social Studies curriculums and provided support in developing instructional strategies to meet the needs of each student. Differentiated instruction to meet individual academic needs of students with disabilities aligned to NYS CCLS. Chaired the school-wide data inquiry team aligning SMART goals with the School Improvement Plan. Trained teachers in classroom management and analyzed attendance data regarding student truancy. Led the Data Discipline Team by facilitating monthly meetings with deans and analyzing suspension data.

Trained thirty-five new special education fellows in comprehending the NYCTF instructional framework. Conducted observations and provided feedback using the Teacher Observation Rubric (TOR). Facilitated four professional development workshops for teachers in special education. Led weekly skills sessions on lesson planning, assessments and classroom management.
