Dr Begüm Ulusoy

I am a Senior Lecturer and Master of Architecture (RIBA/ARB) Course Leader with international experience in higher education and architectural practice. My industry background spans six companies specializing in diverse building typologies—including hotels, hospitals, airports, and workspaces—which deeply informs my teaching, research, and academic leadership.I am a committed educator, who publish in peer-revied journals, with expertise in design pedagogy, bespoke teaching, and course leadership. My roles as Master of Architecture Course Leader, Board Member of the Chamber of Interior Architects, government-funded researcher, and Marketing Lead reflect my capacity for interdisciplinary collaboration and strategic engagement. I am especially passionate about bridging academia and industry, developing inclusive pedagogies, and fostering international partnerships and live projects.My research focuses on user experience in interior architecture, exploring how sensory elements, spatial semantics, and cultural factors shape perception in public and private interiors. My doctoral work and subsequent studies are grounded in empirical methods, drawing from environmental psychology, neuroplasticity, and sustainability. I have published in peer-reviewed journals, including a single-author ISI Web of Science article in Education Sciences, and maintain an ambitious trajectory for future outputs.
