Research project on African perspectives on the financing of African Regional Organisations

The objective is to support the GFFO in advancing multilateral cooperation on data, technology and innovation to prevent and respond to complex risks and crises. It is to advise the GFFO to develop data analysis products both at the German level and in the multilateral framework taking into account challenges and expectations in African countries and regional organisations - specifically West Africa.

Monitoring and evaluation of European Union (EU) funded APSA IV support program - Assess the programme implementation with a specific focus on its quality and results achieved and to identify factors driving or hindering progress. - Extensive literature review and consultations with representatives of the RECs/RMs and the AU - Field visits in the AU, ECOWAS and COMESA

Mission for the Risk-informed Early Action Partnership (REAP), bringing together wide range of stakeholders across the climate, humanitarian and development communities with the aim of making 1 billion people safer from disaster by 2025. The objective is to take anticipatory/early action to scale at a global, regional, and national level. My mission is to conduct a mapping and analysis of policy environment in country case studies where early action has been or could be implemented to develop Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction.

Monitoring and Evaluation of ECOWAS’ Early Warning System (ECOWARN) - Benchmarking of other EWS (African Development Bank, EU, AU, UNDP and COMESA) - Interviews with staff in Ghana, Liberia, Mali, Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, Bissau Guinea) for monitoring and assessment of national early warning mechanisms
