* Conduct Research and Develop scientific method in the organic chemistry laboratory (on analysis of Persistent Organic Pollutants in surface water, groundwater, wetlands, dams and estuaries) from conception to operation * Provide training to the Regional Offices laboratory staff and other relevant government departments and non-government institutions on analytical methods on request or as per identified needs. * Implement, validate (quality assurance/control/accreditation) and populate database systems with data and information on persistent organic pollutants (POPs). * Overseer the technical aspects of the organic analysis and interpretation of results.

* Conducting teaching /practical , marking of assignments and examination scripts for: * Integrated Environmental Management, * Pedology and Soil Classification, * Environmental Monitoring.

* Lead the team on environmental management and impact assessment projects * Developing EMP and EIA drafts / report and EMS procedures for construction projects * Researched environmental legal requirements on proposed projects * Provide scientific and technical support for Environmental impact management /Mitigation * Perform quality checks using quality management systems requirements (QMS) * Sourcing for sub-contractors and vetting of sub-contractors bills of quantity

* Design and implementation of the National Toxicity Monitoring Programme (NTMP) * Provide specialised information in support of water resource management. * Carry out Investigations into modeling design for non-conservative water quality determinants * Ad hoc water resource quality investigations and sampling * Publication and presentation of scientific research work in relevant journals. * Mentoring of Graduate trainings/ Post graduate students

Assisting student and researchers with sample analysis and instrumentation on the AAS and GC- ECD/FID/GC-MS * Laboratory assistance for Environmental Chemistry ll and lll (practical classes) * Setting out of equipment for practical demonstration for under graduate students and preparation of standards / chemical reagents. RESEARCH TITLE: OCCURRENCE AND CONCENTRATIONS OF POLYBROMINATED DIPHENYL ETHERS (PBDEs) IN LANDFILL LEACHATES IN TSHWANE MUNICIPALITY Activities and Societies: * Monitoring of environmental samples for heavy metals, Organochlorine pesticides and Brominated Flame-retardants using: atomic absorption spectrometer (AAS), gas chromatograph equipped with electron capture detector and flame ionization detector (GC-ECD/FID)
