* Inergy Automotive - Temporary Plant Controller, New Boston, Mich. * Midway Products, Inc. – At this former employer provided full time project, cost and financial analysis to aid the companies’ unprecedented growth. * Eaton Corporation – developed and installed a unique cost accounting and planning and budgeting system at one computer part manufacturing plant. * Quantum Compliance Systems – Successfully took this software company from a cash-based, checkbook accounting system to a state of the art system and instituted budgeting and long range planning. * Totally revised the costing and pricing system at a toll coating facility including meetings with all customers resulting in increased prices which transformed the company to a profitable business without losing any customers.

* Reporting to Automotive Group President, significant accomplishments were: * Responsible for making Mexican Division profitable for the first time after analyzing Mexican labor laws and restructuring shifts and manning to eliminate both premium time and several federally mandated costs. * Centralized accounts payable processing for the Canadian and Mexican operations into the US operation eliminating two positions and improving control. * Extended payable terms by 20 days when a major customer extended their payment terms which resulted in an improved Cash to Cash cycle with no vendor turnover. * Stopped the practice of progress payments to vendors that produced molds and tools resulting in cash flow improvements with no loss of suppliers.

* Reporting to Automotive Group President, significant accomplishments were: * Responsible for all aspects from needs analysis to justification and implementation of an Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning system. * Conceived of, negotiated and implemented the complete outsourcing of computer operations saving several hundred thousand dollars annually while greatly reducing implementation time. * Advised Group President and Group staff on all accounting, planning, policy, information technology, capital expenditure, and continuous improvement issues. * Responsible for supervising, mentoring and developing three professionals. * In charge of all continuous improvement projects and trained Team Oriented Problem Solving 8D (8 disciplines) classes at all plant sites. * Led problem solving team that reduced energy costs over $500,000 per year.

* Reported to Vice-President of Finance and supervised a staff of nine, significant accomplishments were: * Produced externally certified financials including prior year within one month after year end following outside auditor refusal to certify the previous year’s results. * Elimination of two accounting positions while reducing the month end closing cycle. * Annual physical to perpetual inventory adjustments at all 3 plants of less than ½% for two years after a $470,000 unexpected loss the year before my arrival. * Established an annual budget and meaningful standard costs at all three operating facilities, sales office, and the corporate office. * Conducted fixed asset inventories at all locations along with the establishment of a capital appropriations procedure which enhanced control and reduced personal property taxes by over $150,000 per year. * Trained and developed a nine person staff that had lacked professional skills.

* Responsible for supervising the plant controllers at seven manufacturing plants along with company-wide cost accounting and budget responsibility. Began as Corporate Manager of Costs and Budgets and in November 1988 was promoted to Operations Controller. * Some significant accomplishments were: * Served on acquisition team that acquired largest ($100 million) competitor and was solely responsible for instituting a perpetual inventory system plus installation & training of the parent company's cost and budget methods at two newly acquired plants. * Found and eliminated the causes of two consecutive quarter million dollar inventory losses that occurred immediately before employment. * Left when business reorganized and position was relocated to North Carolina.

* Responsible for: * Training and implementing the corporations cost accounting, inventory, budgeting and reporting systems at two newly acquired manufacturing plants. * Computerizing the entire companies' management reporting system. * Served as acting plant controller at two manufacturing plants during two and six month vacancies.
