Indirect Purchasing & Facilities Manager
Responsible for all indirect spend for the Corporate Headquarters and the three manufacturing facilities. Annual spend in excess of $180M. Manage procurement of indirect materials, ensuring quality materials and services are purchased at optimal costs and quantities. Acts as liaison between supplier and the rest of the company, ensuring effective communication and that supplier performance meets or exceeds company expectations. Manages indirect purchasing personnel for all manufacturing operations. Develops and qualifies new supply and vendor sources as needed to support new products or services, to supplement existing suppliers and or to replace low performers. Recently implemented a company-wide competitive bid / market test policy. Practice lean and six sigma tools when applicable to the procurement process. Successful with target round negotiations and one on one negotiation practices. Recent Projects: Converted 92% of indirect suppliers to EOAP terms, generating a substantial one favorable cash flow position. Consolidated all manufacturing locations to one PTB, power, transmission, bearing supplier to obtain an 18% annual savings in addition to standardization of products throughout all locations. Reduced plant inventory $1M, by consolidating, standardizing and reevaluating EOQ. Consolidated company paper usage and negotiated a paper agreement directly with mill. Several success stories of negotiating in the areas of value added and value engineering cost reduction opportunities. Successful with strong negotiating skills in demanding year after year cost reductions via price or added value and or service. Implemented internal and external sourcing boards to obtain company-wide approval for sourcing strategies prior to marketing test and then pre-award approval. Currently leading a company-wide cross functional indirect cost reduction initiative with YTD results of $6M.

Senior Buyer / Sourcing Specialist
Yearly spend in excess of $25M, per year. The Sourcing Specialist responsibilities include sourcing direct materials for all of our North America locations and participate and implement the Global sourcing contracts. Strategically combine purchases from all seven plant locations. Plant responsibilities include planning, directing and supervising the activities of Receiving, Stores and Purchasing. Manage entire MRO data base and all other items to support the plant. Insure that requisitions are processed quickly and accurately and product is received on time from suppliers. Negotiate and implement stocking agreements, consignment inventories, pricing to achieve best value on purchased items. Release all direct materials based on MRP schedule. All International purchases are my responsibility from placement of order to clearing customs. Manage vendor base, including developing new suppliers, improving current vendors’ performance and tracking supplier performance – delivery and quality. Responsible for all activities of Receiving, Stores and Purchasing. Develop and maintain programs and procedures to minimize inventories while insuring a smooth operation, reducing cash flow and facilitating cost reductions. Create and maintain blanket orders for direct materials in coordination with corporate purchasing. Manage and maintain visa procurement card purchasing policy. Participate in the supplier approval and development process. Identify, negotiate, source and implement materials and services contracts. Implement and monitor all contracts. Process stock reorders for inventory accuracy, min and max reviews, obsolescence and inclusion into existing commodity contracts.Supervise purchasing clerks to insure proper handling of paperwork, accurate computer entries. Identify obsolete stock, disposition.Provide leadership in the employee involvement process and maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.
