I am a senior from southeast Michigan studying International and Asian Studies at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. On campus, I serve as a representative of the Asian Languages and Cultures Department. I am passionate about learning more about the role of international affairs in our everyday lives, including business, politics, and economics. I spent the summer of 2018 in Beijing, China working at a local organization located just outside of The Forbidden City that seeks to emphasize the importance of traditional Chinese culture to individuals living in China. I also spent the summer of 2019 studying abroad and participating in a Chinese intensive language program that enforced the use of a language pledge in Beijing, China. In the future, I aspire to find a position within the international spectrum, specifically involving both China and the United States. I enjoy working as a team, creating a positive impact, and also firmly believe that my problem-solving and communication skills allow me to be an effective leader.
