Casino & Hospitality Design Brief Highlight: As Director of Design at Station Casinos, Donovan was responsible for managing the design & execution of over a Billion dollars of construction. His crucial contributions extended to the new Durango Casino & Resort & many other projects, where he played a central role in resolving all the challenges and design decisions that came up during design & construction. Multi Family/ Mixed Use Design Brief Highlights: • Designed and managed over 15 multi-family projects through Concept, Entitlement & Design Development phases. • Point contact for the firm’s clientele during those phases. Responsible for managing client needs and expectations. • Present designs at Planning Department Meetings, Design Review Boards & City Council Commissions. • Ability to meet short deadlines with fast turn around. • 2018 VTBS 2nd place (after Gensler) for LA’s top architects award for producing 1.8 million sf of construction in LA. Retail/ Mixed Use Design Brief Highlights: • Designed and managed over 10 global large scale retail projects. • Introduced and integrated Revit to the Jerde team; developed coursework and training for staff. • Designed and coordinated innovative retail facades with foreign building technologies. • Adapted to the fast pace international design build efforts and overcame the lack of regulation in the Chinese market. • Traveled internationally to present projects to clients. Casino & Hospitality Design Brief Highlights: • Designed and collaborated on more than 35 casino/hospitality projects located around the world. • Established mentor relationship with design director who championed profession growth. • Took on multiple roles within the office and became the Design Director’s right hand. • First completed project: 900MM Red Rock Resort and Casino. • Pioneer in Revit tools, exemplifying the Cosmopolitan as the largest BIM model at the time.
