B&D Group is Australia's market leader in the manufacture and distribution of garage doors. B&D manufactures over 4000 garage doors a week for the residential, commercial, and industrial markets. Responsibilities: • Ensuring delivery of new product development objectives in line with Group innovation roadmap. • Ensuring delivery of NPD driven plant / facility changes in accordance with Group capital projects plan. • Ensuring delivery of SAP Master Data objectives (project support and BAU general tech support). • Approving engineering drawings, specifications and spend. • Acting PMO for critical innovation projects. The master data team manage the creation, maintenance and deletion of B&D’s material and product ranges in SAP ECC6 and APO and are responsible for ensuring the overall health and functionality of B&D’s SAP ERP system. Responsibilities: • Act as primary point of contact between SAP/IT and rest of business. • Ensure timely set up of NPD and BAU SAP changes. • Create test scripts, conduct unit testing and UAT (ECC  APO) across relevant business units. • Create training documentation for wider business covering SAP transactions and internal system procedures. • Support Sales, Finance and Marketing in implementing yearly cost, price, and product range updates. Responsibilities: • Project management, subcontractor & supplier management, cost estimation, procurement, tender preparation / selection, and drafting. • Projects included Woolworths Shopping Centre developments valued up to $13M, residential new builds ranging up to $7M, Woolworths Petrol station projects valued up to $1.5M. Established in 1922, Gosford Quarries supplies sandstone to various landmark projects across Australia such as Barangaroo Towers, Westfield Tower, Sydney Hilton, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Sydney. I undertook a placement here for my final year Industrial Training project. Responsibilities: • Worked 2 days per week to redesign excavator-mounted sandstone saws to rectify weight related safety issues and operational concerns regarding production and R&M costs. • Load calculations, 3D modelling (AutoCAD), technical drawings. • Generating manufacturing specifications and BOMs. Achievements: • Achieved 27% weight reduction via improved design and new materials, solution implemented in 2013. FIP Brakes International is one of North America’s largest providers of products and services for the rail industry. FIP has over 60 years’ experience in developing railway brake materials, exporting to over 15 countries by offering customized braking solutions to suit each customer's specific operational requirements. I carried out a life cycle assessment of the Wetherill Park production plant which identified several high loss processes. Responsibilities: • Value stream mapping of production plant • Analysis of energy usage and machine runtime from SCADA logs and energy bills • Taking measurements of material input and output in various manufacturing processes Achievements: • Identified several aging machines with significantly higher electricity and gas usage than other similar processes, resulting in a subsequent plant upgrades • Identified resource flow bottlenecks for FIP’s three highest selling products, leading to more efficient production scheduling Technologies used: • Citect SCADA, AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel, Adobe PDF creator
