Hawaii's largest non-for-profit agency dedicated to providing highest number of mental health and community outreach programs. -Spearheaded strategies to turnaround an under-producing organization, and established operational and financial stability. -Managed a $6.6 million budget, 9 reports with 165 staff at four locations. -Lead efforts to increase revenues, restructured and revitalized the organization and inspired the workforce to transform the unstable agency into a productive, efficient, and cost-effective operation. -Successfully developed a tracking system that completely eliminated denied claims (by the State of Hawaii Department of Health). -Recommended and directed the successful merger of three corporations into a single, cohesive organization. This effort reduced annual insurance costs by $100K. -Automated two departments, reducing expenses by 16% and 7%. -Received the "Healthy Workplace Award" from the American Psychological Association in 2005, and recognized by Hawaii Mental Health Association as an "Outstanding Agency" in 2006. As Chief Financial Officer -Managed and coordinated all fiscal aspects of the organization, including budgeting, banking, and reporting procedures. Led efforts to reduce control/contain costs and increase funding. Selected Achievements: -Minimized finance charges by over $21K and generated $36K in additional interest within one year. -Eradicated $600K line of credit by introducing processes for faster payments. -Established the organization's first endowment fund of $415K -Developed revolving operating cash surplus to support bi-weekly payroll, ongoing facility improvements, merit-based wage increase for all employees, 5% employer match to 403(b) funds. -Consolidated office space resulting in $120K in annual lease revenues. -Promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) after exhibiting dedication, skill, tenacity as a CFO

As VP Finance & Operations -Advanced after successful tenure in Comptroller position to promote long-range profitability and growth for the organization. Selected Achievements: -Played integral role in the merger of Hawaii Pacific University and Hawaii Loa College; introduced and revised internal controls that sustained operational excellence for organization with 8,900 students. -Received the prestigious “Cost Reduction Incentive Award” from the National Association of College and University Business Officers (in cooperation with the U.S. Steel Foundation). -Championed development and implementation of a first University costing system, described as exemplary by the Accrediting Commission of the Western Association of Schools & Colleges (WASC). As Senior VP Earned promotion to effectively manage bottom-line issues and maximize profitable results for institution with 1,033 full-time faculty and staff at two campuses and seven military bases. -Oversaw Finance, Human Resources (HR), Bursar, Registrar, Financial aid and International Recruitment/Admissions departments, as well as bookstores, dormitories, and dining facilities on the 135-acre campus.
