I have over 30 years’ experience within the digital signal processing, scientific computing, engineering and rotor dynamics fields. I joined Prosig in its infancy and have filled various roles as the company has evolved, primarily concerned with product design and development for the power generation industry. I have managed a small team of engineers and have worked on all aspects of product lifespan from proposal preparation, design, specification, planning and development through to testing, installation, commissioning and training. I have also been extensively involved in pre and post-sales support both in the UK and abroad. I have been primarily involved in the design, development and implementation of multi-platform product for the online vibration monitoring of large rotating machines used in the power generation industry. This has involved the development of specialised data acquisition hardware and embedded software, signal processing algorithms, data analysis and database storage and retrieval. I also designed and developed a Graphical User Interface (GUI) for the product for use by operational staff and vibration experts alike. The system is distributed and so makes extensive use of client/server and remote access technologies. This system is now in operation 24/7 in various countries world-wide. . For the last ten years I have been a company director reporting directly to the board. This role has also included business development, recruitment, financial planning, HR and Quality matters and staff development.
