I was responsible for technical support to distributors and customers worldwide as well as bug fixing, enhancements and further development of the software testing product Evaluator. The software involved was written in C, with device drivers and firmware written in 8051 assembler. I worked with a wide range of PC-based C/C++ compilers including those from Borland and Microsoft. I also wrote hardware device drivers for different keyboards and serial devices including mice and printers and tested the product under different environments such as OS/2, Windows and DOS.

I worked here for two stints as a contracter developing software. This involved writing software in PASCAL, BASIC and Assembler (Z80/8088) on PCs for testing personal paging devices from different manufacturers including Ericsson, Multitone, Grundig and Bosch. I also wrote software to control different Telecommunications test benches and a radio receiver from a PC using the serial port, which together with the pager test software provided an integrated test environment for the repair technicians that is still in use 10 years later. Other software written included a program for printing address labels, cheques, invoices and delivery notes and a database program to store details of all repairs carried out to assist with customer enquiries.

Software development in C, PASCAL and Assembler (8051, Z80) in a PC environment under MSDOS using in circuit emulators from Metalink, Lauterbach and Ashling. I was also involved in hardware design from the prototype stage through layouts to final production and testing. Projects I have worked on include a serial data transmission program using an infrared transmitter/receiver, a weighing bridge for a braketester and a quality control data logger. The main project on which I worked was a mobile handheld computer based on the Siemens 80C535 microcontroller with software written in C and assembler

The company carries out R&D Projects for several large companies in the Munich area. I worked on two projects during my time there. The first was a telephone system for Bosch based on a Texas Instruments 70C02 microprocessor designed in PASCAL and implemented in C and assembler. My responsibilities included design, implementation, testing and debugging in a VAX/VMS environment using TI in-circuit emulators. My second project was a structured analysis of the automation of an aerodynamic wind tunnel for BMW using the real time CASE tool Statemate running on a Sun workstation under Solaris.

* My role at MDS consists of Java development across the company's range of billing and customer management products including the following: * Development of Selfcare web application in Java and HTML5 using Spring MVC. * Enhanced the MDS CMP product with Number Portability functionality in Java and Spring Batch. * Developed XSLT transform of XML documents for SEPA payments. * Java development of SOAP web services from WSDL specification through to implementation and testing with SoapUI. * Data Analytics and Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) using the Lavastorm Analytical Engine (LAE) and Oracle database. * Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) using CT Connect to interface with an Avaya Switch for MDS CMP Client.
