I have pursued my master's degree from Hochschule Aalen, the top university for applied science in Germany, where I worked on multiple projects aimed towards optimizing manufacturing processes and material analysis primarily using Machine Vision tools, namely Deep Learning (DL) packages, Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), Machine Learning (ML) models in Python. As a part of these projects, I optimized data pipelines to automate data collection and sorting, detected and removed anomalies from data which improved the accuracy of the ML and DL models, and visualized prediction results to compare different traditional ML models and DL models.

My B.tech thesis revolved around Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) & Topology Optimization (TO) of a Hydraulic manifold block. The experience at Intech Additive Solutions (earlier Intech DMLS) helped me to adapt my final design as per Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) process constraints. I achieved weight reduction by approx. 47% and lead time reduction by approx. 26%. I look forward to working on the application side of AM and leveraging its potential for future applications.

I worked at Larsen & Toubro Heavy Engineering Division which is a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that caters to the needs of core process, nuclear power, defence and aerospace industries. As an intern, I worked for six weeks on the project “IoT & Automation in Nozzle Welding Station”, my task related to project involved the following :- 1. Automation of the SAW process: the process can now be performed by a single operator instead of the two needed before. Production rate was increased by 37 percent. 2. Work on the modified Flux Recovery Unit (FRU): routed flux feeding pipe and flux suction pipe. 3. Digital logger design: set up a new pancake slip ring and designed a digital logger that monitors voltage and current values at various points during welding. Apart from the value of being part of an excellent engineering team I also learned about the following: 1. Lifting lug design, welded and bolted joints, application of Finite Element methods Analysis (FEA) 2. CAD modelling of fixtures for top lid mountings using Solidedge and NX 7.5, thermocouple mounting, Infrared Heating and setup. 3. Various manufacturing processes: tube-to-tube sheet welding, Electro Slag Strip Cladding (ESSC) process, hot rolling and cold rolling.

My role in the event was of Venue and accommodation management where I communicated with the authorities at CEPT University, Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India and Pathikashram Gandhinagar.
