Ungdomsparlamentet (direct translation The Youth Parliament) is an annual project since 2006 on democracy aimed at high school students and teachers in Stockholm. Students involved in the project write non-government bills of current and local issues identified as important by themselves, which thereafter are debated in various sessions with different classes and schools involved in the project. The best bills voted from the Youth Parliament get a chance to have seminar dialogues between representatives of Ungdomsparlamentet and Members of the Stockholm City Council. Stockholm's young people therefore get a chance to influence the city's elected representatives with the ideas and proposals that have been included in Ungdomsparlamentet.
