Devanshi Dubey

Devanshi Dubey is a biology undergraduate at University of California, San Diego, a rare disease patient advocate, and a speaker whose work centers on the mental health impacts of chronic and rare illness. Diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at 19 after years of misdiagnosis and unexplained symptoms across countries and healthcare systems, she brings a systems-aware perspective to her academic and advocacy efforts. Her interests include medical trauma, diagnostic delay, health communication, and the psychological burden of navigating care structures that often overlook complexity and marginalized experiences. Devanshi engages with students, researchers, clinicians, and advocacy groups to examine how patient insight can strengthen care, research, and policy. She is particularly focused on how mental health is integrated into chronic illness care and how more responsive, humane approaches can emerge through thoughtful communication and inclusion. Alongside her studies, she is involved in cystic fibrosis and rare disease advocacy, nonprofit leadership, and patient advisory initiatives, with an emphasis on representation, access, and community-informed change. She is preparing for graduate training in psychology and related fields, with the long-term goal of contributing to research, education, and advocacy that bridge mental health and chronic illness. She is open to collaboration, speaking opportunities, research engagement, and interdisciplinary conversations focused on mental health, rare disease, and patient-centered systems.
