After high school, I took a bridge year and living in Curitiba, Brasil where I lived with a host family, learned Portuguese, and worked two apprenticeships. During the time of my program there was an emphasis placed on service learning instead of learning service. Towards the completion of the program, I created a community health program advocating for safe sex practices and frequent HIV test check ups to vulnerable communities.

A study abroad experience that combines classroom and experiential learnings by visiting nine countries while sailing around the world. Countries visited: Spain, Ghana, South Africa, India, Burma, Japan, Germany, Vietnam, and China. During this time I focused on photography and world cinema as well as facilitating cross-cultural communication.
