Denis Bartoschek

As a member of the Preclinical Flow Cytometry and Imaging Team, my role involves advancing scientific research and providing support for our respiratory and immuno-oncology projects. My main focus is on conducting flow cytometry-based experiments and imaging-based assays. This includes characterizing cell populations and analyzing protein binding using both conventional (Sartorius Intellicyt iQue) and spectral flow cytometry (Cytek Aurora) techniques. Additionally, I do image analysis with 2D and 3D cell cultures (Biotek Cytation and Leica Thunder Imager), and perform immunofluorescence stainings of tissue samples. Outside of the laboratory, I am responsible for various tasks, such as planning assays, analyzing data, and collaborating closely with my fellow team members, as well as cross-functional teams to help achieve the organization's objectives.

Master Thesis: "SUMO Modification of the DEK oncogene during replication" and part-time student research assistant at Bioimaging Centre, Department of Biology, University of Konstanz. Supervised by Prof. Dr. Elisa May.

As an industrial trainee at the CSIRO Manufacturing Business Unit, my aim was to support the team in advancing the production and characterization of a recombinant protein (collagen-like) for biomedical applications. As part of the project, I learned various skills and techniques in molecular biology and cell biology. This included protein expression, protein purification, bacterial and mammalian cell culture, cell-based assays, as well as fluorescence microscopy and confocal microscopy.

Bachelor Thesis: "Characterization of Men-1 deficient mesenchymal stem cells from the benign jaw tumor of mice" at the Institute of Comparative Molecular Endocrinology, University of Ulm.
