* Assist in the overall implementation and execution of the adult education program * Encourage and support students in the success of the program * Answer telephones, direct calls, and take messages. * Occasional ASL/English Interpreting between Deaf and non-Deaf customers, students and coworkers

* Ensure daily and weekly program plans are completed and approved by the YMCA * Participate in daily camp activities and ensures that campers are comfortable and a fun, quality experience * Supervise campers safety at all times during their camp experience

* Plan and implement child/youth based activities based on City of Brampton standards * Supervise program participants to ensure their safety * Create a positive and welcoming work environment

* Provided advice to customers about the store merchandise * Greeted customers upon entering to inform the about the promotions * Organized and maintained store floor merchandise

* Provide one-on-one school-based mentorship to fellow students * Facilitate workshops, out-reach activities and other programs focused on learning strategies * Promote student engagement on campus * Maintain up to date student services and resources

* Assist in the promotion and creation of advocacy and educational campaigns * Take part in research to identify the equity needs of the students on campus * Assist in coordinating activities and events

ASL/English Interpreter Program is a three year intensive program that trains students to become sign language interpreters. Classes emphasize skills in English, ASL and the knowledge of Deaf Culture.
