I am an experienced consultant with a successful track record of managing enterprise-wide, mission-critical, complex, and highly integrated software solutions spanning across Alberta. I have a unique combination of education and experience in four domains: Software Development, Project/Program/Portfolio Management, International Business, and Healthcare. My broad and deep knowledge base allows me to view things from multiple perspectives. I am a strategic planner with the ability to transform those plans into actionable, tactical and operational goals, where the final results can be measured to demonstrate return on investment. I have a solid track record of being able to recruit, develop, and mentor high performance teams. Previously, I have managed in-house software development projects, outsourced development to third-party vendors, and implemented customized COTS products. I have evaluated many RFP responses, and have many years of experience in negotiation, contract management, and vendor selection. Living in Alberta all my life, I have a thorough understanding of Provincial security policies and standards relating to the processing, storage, and archiving of personal information; as well as the Health Information Act (HIA). I can also deliver projects that pass the scrutiny of the AB Auditor General. In addition, I have experience leading remotely located teams in Europe and the US for Fortune 1000 companies. Projects I have delivered have spanned the entire System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with a large budget, multi-diverse groups of stakeholders, and many locations. The projects I managed involved software development and business process changes. I keep up-to-date with the latest trends in IT and Project Management. I have great foresight from my many years of experience and intuitively know where a project can potentially go off the rails. This gives me the ability to be pro-active to stop potential problems from arising. I have a strong work ethic, and I am a supporter of fairness, integrity, transparency, and knowledge sharing.
