As a Graduate Engineer Trainee in the Operations Department of BRPL, I am actively involved in the operation and monitoring of an iron ore beneficiation plant. My responsibilities include understanding and supporting key process units such as: Screening Grinding (Primary & Secondary Ball Mills) Hydrocyclone Classification Gravity Separation (Fluidized Bed Technique) Magnetic Separation (WHIMS, HGMS) Thickening Slurry Handling & Tailings Management Key Contributions: Collaborated in daily operational monitoring and troubleshooting to ensure smooth plant performance. Gained practical exposure in equipment like Vibrating Screens, Screw Spiral Classifier, Ball mill, Krebs Hydrocyclones, Derrick screens, Dewatering Cyclones, Delkor belt Screens, magnetic separators, and Thickeners. Collaborated with senior engineers to analyze process data, track key performance indicators for better recovery and throughput. Learned about safety practices and process control systems used in continuous mineral processing operations. This role has strengthened my technical foundation, problem-solving skills, and understanding of large-scale mineral beneficiation processes.

Completed industrial internship at Ardent Steel Private Limited, a subsidiary of Hira- Godawari Power and Ispat Limited, gaining exposure to iron ore processing and mineral beneficiation operations. Gained exposure to key beneficiation and plant departments including process operations, core & grinding, quality control, electrical & instrumentation, mechanical maintenance, and HR administration. Observed operational practices involved in ore handling, grinding, screening, and mineral processing workflows. Developed understanding of industrial safety practices, plant coordination, and process monitoring in a steel raw-material processing environment. Guide: Dr. Tanmoy Kundu, Principal Scientist Project Title: “Beneficiation studies for the recovery of iron values from a low-grade iron ore” Ore Type: Banded Hematite Quartzite (BHQ) During my internship at CSIR-IMMT, I worked on a research-based beneficiation project aimed at recovering iron values from low-grade BHQ ore. The study involved a series of mineral processing techniques including sizing, washing, cleaning, experimental analysis, and mineral characterization studies. I gained hands-on experience in laboratory-scale processing and learned to operate essential mineral beneficiation equipment. Key responsibilities : 1.
