Deborah Park
Scientist II @ Terremoto Biosciences
About
With scientific curiosity to investigate biological problems and passion to help people with unmet needs, I earned my PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology in hopes that I can help make significant advances in the development of therapeutic agents. My thesis work was on the cellular and molecular mechanism of memory formation and I had the opportunity to do an industry collaborative project during my studies. I then pivoted to drug discovery work in a dynamic startup environment to help with multiple goals such as DC nomination and IND study reports. I am a versatile research scientist who is quick to learn new skills, eager to tackle any scientific challenge, and happy to help out teammates. Soft skills: + Communication + Flexibility + Attention to detail + Mentoring + Time management Technical skills: + Mammalian cell culture + Transfection + Immunocytochemistry + Microscopy imaging + Western blotting + Immunoprecipitation + ELISA + Flow cytometry + MSD Outside of scientific research, I enjoy playing tennis, gardening, drawing, and knitting. Experience

Scientist II
South San Francisco, California, United States
Continued contributing to the drug discovery work with the same responsibilities from the previous role while also supporting new target programs, authoring IND reports, and managing a direct report.

Scientist I
South San Francisco, California, United States
Contributed to drug discovery work as part of the cell biology team by designing, optimizing, and executing assays for screening small molecule drugs, advancing mechanism of action understanding, and collaborating with in vivo and toxicology teams with ad hoc experiments and tasks. + Designed, optimized, and executed in vitro assays. + Managed multiple CRO studies. + Assisted with creation of data package for DC nomination, IND reports, and series C fundraising. + Received multiple awards in recognition of exceptional work and teamwork.

Research Scientist
San Carlos, California, United States
Assisted with the development and application of the company large scale, single-molecule proteome analysis platform: + Designed and executed experiments to validate antibodies. + Collaborated with and optimized sample preparation process for new target protein purification and bioconjugation. + Managed an external collaborative project.

Graduate Student Researcher
Davis, CA
Worked as a PhD candidate in Dr. Karen Zito's lab to investigate the role of NMDAR signaling in memory formation and neurological disorders such as schizophrenia, and got to collaborate with Astellas to confirm mechanism of action for proprietary therapeutic compound. + Designed, optimized, and executed experiments + Presented research data at joint lab meetings and conferences + Published in 7 papers from collaborations and thesis work + Trained new additions to the team
