Education

BSc Hons Clothing Design and Manufacture
The course is a balance between theoretical knowledge and practical 'hands on' skills. It has equipped me with a sound understanding of the principles and practice of design, technology and management in fashion and associated businesses, enabling me to enter into a wide range of careers within the industry. First and second year provided me with a sound theoretical knowledge of design, pattern cutting, garment assembly, textiles and management of the fashion and clothing industry. Third year made use of inter-linked projects, which further developed my creative, and problem solving skills in producing fashion garments, whilst linking my work to the reality of the management of its production. Fourth year included several modules in current issues and management, and an honours project. Work Placement: I undertook a 6 month work placement in the third term of my second year, details of this can be found in the Experience section of my profile.
