The Trail operation is one of the worlds largest fully integrated Zinc and Lead smelting and refining complexes, located in southern British Columbia, Canada.

Key Lake is the world’s largest high grade uranium ore processing facility by volume. Scope: all mobile and fixed plant assets, infrastructure, CAPEX and OPEX portfolios, major shutdowns, plant engineering, reliability engineering, planning and scheduling, warehouse management, 135 unionized trades workers, 45 technical staff Implement management systems to improve performance and profitability including key metrics monitoring, which resulted in 10% reduction in maintenance expenditure while maintaining long term asset health. Implement Operational Reliability best practices within the Engineering function; preventative maintenance plans, lubrication programs, vibration monitoring, structural integrity, pressure vessel integrity, tank integrity, pipe line integrity, etc. Chair of Cameco's Reliability Engineering Community of Practice.

Potash Fertilizer mining and refining: Lead the safety and health program for the Inflow Department, consisting of roughly 150 employees and 200 contractors, located underground in the K1 and K2 mine and on the surface grout site. Significant reduction in LTI and TRIF through cultural shift and behavioral changes.

Continuous Improvement Coordinator II
K2 Mill, Esterhazy, SK
Lean six Sigma Black Belt projects, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5S standardization programs, prepare business cases for those projects. Develop standardized process and procedures. Facilitate and lead the Esterhazy site Energy Management Program to reduce the intensity of natural gas and electricity use. Develop core team with members from all operations groups, gather baseline data and trends to compare improvements against, and develop 2014 quarterly objectives for the program. Present plan of attack to the VP and the senior leadership team. Prepare scope document for request for proposals (RFP's) for the securing of an Energy Management Consultant. Gather proposals and make recommendations for selection. Initiate and support LEAN programs to reduce cost overhead and increase overall equipment effectiveness. Perform Lean Six-Sigma Black Belt project towards understanding the business case on improving de-brining centrifuges and subsequent natural gas drying operations on the K2 heavy media circuit.

Mechanical Design Specialist

Reforestation Specialty Equipment: Designed and built a prototype spray trailer unit on tracks pulled by a small catipillar style tractor for mine tailing re-vegetation and dust suppressant. This unit was designed for high floatation over sandy terrain and utilized GPS speed sensors to control the flow rate to the application boom. Designed and built mounting equipment to attach an industrial seed spreader onto an ATV in order to apply seed over rough terrain. Design and built a tank farm to unload, store, circulate, and reload liquid dust suppressant material.

Engineering Intern - Remote Communities

Diesel Electric Power Generation: Part of a team that provides engineering support and project management for 21 Northern Ontario "off grid" fly-in remote communities. In this role I had the opportunity to frequently travel to northern sites via bush plane where Hydro One manages deisel generating stations to provide power to the communities. I performed design work for generator house ventilation, new generator retro fits, exhaust stacks, and cooling radiator piping layouts. I field managed part of a project to errect a 30KW wind turbine at one of the sites. I had the opportunity to perform a cost/benefit analysis on an exhaust heat co-gen system to be used at three trial communites and present the findings to upper management.
