About

I am a recent graduate student in the Professional Science Master’s program in Food Science and Human Nutrition at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where I combined advanced technical training with business fundamentals to prepare for a career in food innovation and leadership roles in the industry.Previously, I worked on the Spices team as a Product Development Intern at OFI in Chicago, Illinois, supporting the development of new spice blends and seasoning systems. I contributed to benchtop formulation, prototype testing, and sensory evaluation panels, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize cost, scale-up formulations, and improve ingredient functionality. This experience strengthened my skills in formulation, sensory science, and commercial product innovation, integrating consumer insights with technical feasibility to create products that meet market demands and quality expectations.During my graduate studies, I was engaged in a downstream processing team, working in both pilot plant and laboratory settings to support sustainable product development. I operated and maintained advanced bioprocessing equipment while honing skills in process scale-up, industrial applications, and cross-functional collaboration. I have learned and applied separation techniques, including centrifugation, membrane filtration, and reflux systems, gaining expertise in solid-liquid separation, compound concentration, solvent recovery, and troubleshooting pilot-plant operations for industrial applications. My work also involved managing raw materials, ensuring equipment performance, and maintaining GLP/GMP standards, supporting the development of renewable and biodegradable products.Earlier in my career, I worked as a Lab Biologist at IIT Research Institute, where I contributed to pre-clinical studies on the biological activity of chemical and physical agents. My work focused on data analysis, sample integrity, and regulatory compliance. During my undergraduate studies in Animal Science at the University of Illinois, I gained valuable research experience in animal nutrition, working with novel ingredients, formulating diets, and advancing knowledge in microbiome studies.Outside of my academics, I enjoy listening to music, playing the guitar, and engaging in storytelling video games. I have road tripped across the United States, exploring diverse cities, cultures, and museums, as well as hiking and taking in scenic landscapes. These experiences inspire my curiosity and enrich my perspective, both personally and professionally.
