Sergeants Majors are the senior enlisted leaders of a Marine Corps command ranging in size from several hundred to thousands of personnel dispersed throughout the globe. Sergeants Majors have a great deal of responsibility for their unit's Marines, Sailors, and other assigned personnel and the unit’s mission. Sergeants Majors strengthen the chain of command by keeping the Commanding Officer (CEO) aware of existing or potential issues of concern as well as procedures and practices which affect the mission, readiness, welfare and morale of all assigned to the organization. Sergeants Majors are problem solvers. They often work behind the scenes and solve problems before they rise to a level needing the attention of the Commanding Officer, thereby freeing up the Commander for more pressing issues. Sergeants Majors are the Commander's eyes and ears. They are part of the Commander's personal staff and report directly to the Commander. They work independently for the Commander and often are assigned special projects of great importance to the Commander.

Recruit, screen, mentor, and coach post September 11, 2001, military veterans, and current members of the armed forces reserve and National Guard components for positions of employment within the business and corporate community throughout the Dubuque, Iowa, area. Establish working relationships and liaison with numerous veterans’ service organizations both public and private. Provide community leaders in business and government a better understanding of the capabilities of military veterans. Inform business and community leaders how veterans can contribute to an organization’s efficiency and provide a return on investment unparalleled with other employees in the workforce. Assist in the review and facilitation of an extensive training regimen designed to prepare veterans for careers with a number of Fortune 500 companies throughout the nation.
