Known originally as the Democratic Media Center, the Harriman Communications Center was started in 1983 by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. The primary purpose of the HCC was to provide affordable media production services to Democratic congressional candidates and also did work for non-profits and labor unions. David Potasznik was the first camera technician hired and shot numerous spots for candidates as well as other productions. From 1987 until leaving in 1989 David was the Operations Manager, in charge of daily operations of the facility which included an insert stage, sound production facility, 2 on-line edit suites, and several field production crews.
