David Pelayo

David is primarily responsible for planning, controlling and directing all activities necessary for the efficient operation of all order selecting, shipping, receiving, and general warehouse activities. He is also responsible for the development and oversight of policies and procedures as well as training and scheduling for all warehouse staff. David assesses "manpower" needs for all warehouse operations in order to minimize mistakes, maintain safeguards and streamline processes per client need. His duties also include that of creating and implementing procedures to receive/send, unload/load, sort, and store all incoming and outgoing freight accurately and efficiently; Responsible for reviewing warehouse layout, and product slotting to maximize order-pulling efforts and minimize errors. Continually monitors inventory levels and effectively communicates needs with the Supply Chain department. Ensures that needed repairs to all warehouse equipment are completed in a timely and economic manner. Maintain warehouse safety in accordance with both company and governmental standards. Achieves monthly thru-put goals (pieces received and shipped per man hour) as set forth by the Distribution Center Manager. Continually monitors overtime hours to ensure that the proper manpower count needed to process the center's shipments is maintained. Monitors warehouse damages to ensure warehouse shrink is at the lowest level possible. Trains and develops warehouse personnel to achieve departmental objectives and to increase a given employee's capacity to assume additional responsibilities in the future. Assist the Distribution Center Manager in researching and developing new techniques and procedures to increase the overall efficiency of the warehouse operation.

Provided excellence in customer service and was responsible for ensuring that all trucks were properly loaded with merchandise and equipment as needed to several cities. Was also responsible for: handling all manufacturer defects and resupplying the warehouse to compensate for defective products; Ensured that all employees met requirements and fully loaded assigned orders by shift's end; Met with several different vendors to negotiate all defective products to return for proper reimbursement.
