Co-Director with my wife, Live It Ventures LTD has two imprints - Live It Publishing and Britain's Next Bestseller (BNBS). The Live It titles deal mostly with self-help, mindfulness, NLP, business and supportive opportunities; BNBS titles consist of fiction, autobiographies, science fiction, thrillers, crime drama and romance alongside a wealth of children's titles.

First published in 2014, I have since had five titles released (some self-published, some professionally). My main writing genre is psychological thrillers, though I have ghostwritten a crime thriller with Stephen Sayers and am in the process of writing an autobiography for a friend. I have two titles of my own due out in 2018.

I worked as an interim lead nurse in Infection Prevention and Control at Hospital alongside the Deputy Director of IPC. MY main role was to review the current working practices of the team and offer suggestions as to how they could improve/alter/re envision the way they executed the trusts IPC agenda. I was also primarily there to assist the manager with her workload (report writing, teaching, meeting attendance) which was extensive due to staffing issues. We developed a proposal concerning the re-launching of the IPC team and agenda (paper provided to the manager) which was to be considered after my leaving. I was also there to observe and identify evidence of bullying in the IPC team, something both close to my heart as a subject and sadly, as I discovered, present. I formally raised my concerns through the appropriate channels with the support of the manager and Chief Nurse via statements and verbal feedback. The concerns dealt with upward bullying of the manager by the band 7 IPCN and their behaviours in general in relation to attitude, respect and professional behaviour.

* Main responsibilities involved management of IPC team, representation of IPC at various meetings and in addition - * Off-duty * Teaching * Mentorship * Manage the team’s business support function, including developing and managing the team’s annual business plan, progress and dashboard reporting and risk and issue management * Liaise with outside agencies * Manage planning and workforce * Develop and implement a content management system to ensure information is properly managed and best practice is shared across the team, Directorate and the wider NHS organisations * Take a lead in the coordination of training and development and recruitment activity across the Department or Directorate. * Oversight and management of all aspects of the Department or Directorate budgets

Upon qualification, I worked on Vascular Surgery with occasional rotation into HDU. I also spent two years on the Surgical Observation Unit (SOU) caring for Level 2/3 patients

I worked as a bartender in what was formerly The Royal Hotel in Redcar. Loved everything about working behind a bar; the people, the music, my colleagues behind the bar and my managers (of which there were two). Some of the best days of my life!

Always loved movies and working in Blockbuster was my first passion and a job I was so excited to be offered! Surrounded by movies every day... what better job could you ask for!
