Welcome to my LinkedIn profile! I'm David, a dedicated software developer with a passion for tennis, basketball, and learning. I specialize in software development, with expertise in web development and testing. Software Development is an incredible industry and doing the bare minimum is not I'm not interested in doing. When I am given a task, I want to contribute to the best of my ability, and to do this I actively seek out opportunities to learn and grow. As a graduate from Yoobee College of Creative Innovation, I accelerated my career in software development. The first year of the program equipped me with a strong foundation in programming, including HTML, CSS, C++, and the Qt framework, while the second year focused on Python, Flask, Django, and AWS deployment. Additionally, I gained valuable insights into the software development lifecycle, emphasizing the importance of documentation (SRS, use-case diagrams, and UI/UX research). I have also honed my communication and teamwork skills through past experiences as a Digital Technology teacher at Papakura High School, where I successfully created a comfortable learning environment for students. Outside of my formal studies I enjoy getting involved with the software community, through dev meetups, Microsoft Student Accelerator, Summer of Tech, reddit communities and so on.
