Mr. David A. Lomas, P.E., QEP (Water) is a Principal Engineer and Associate at NTH Consultants, Ltd., with over 38 years of experience in water resources. Before his consulting career, he worked for the Department of Interior as a professional hydrologist for eleven years. This government work entailed river flow measurement, surface water quantity and quality, ground water supply, and the protection of ground and surface water resources. Other work protective of surface water has been emergency response planning under federal and Michigan regulations, including U.S. Air Force bases, oil terminals, a refinery, steel mills, the used oil industry, hospitals, and regulated and non-regulated power producers. Recent storm water work includes forensic studies of facility flooding, storm water pollution prevention plan preparation, watershed management plans, low impact development activities to handle storm water flows, and sewer investigations including Illicit discharge elimination and the sampling of sanitary and storm sewer outfalls.
