About

I am a Portfolio Chair, Non-Executive, entrepreneur and past CEO with over three decades of board-level experience across the food, agriculture, export not for profit and at all levels of government with have extensive commercial, meat processing, agribusiness, export and international trade, supply chain, trade policy, governance and risk, advisory and board leadership expertise. In an executive capacity, I am a global agribusiness export specialist, particularly in the Australian export beef industry, with strong leadership in government interaction, policy formulation, negotiation, and governance for Australian export and foreign trade. I currently serve as a Consultant and Senior Executive Mentor at Thomas Foods International. Early in my career I founded Atron Enterprises (SME beef exporter) and later served as CEO of Hancock Agriculture (global Agribusiness - Hancock Prospecting Pty Ltd). I also consider myself a change agent, transforming a 130-year-old business and collaborating with government on policy and governance. At board level I drive growth through business transformation. I have chaired and served on numerous high-profile private and industry-led boards in Australia and globally, dedicating over 30 hours per month for more than 20 years, often in volunteer positions. A significant role was Chair/Deputy Chair of the Australian Meat Industry Council (1999–2016), where I chaired the Australian Agricultural Committee. Key achievements included developing export market access, formulating beef industry export strategy and policy, dismantling trade barriers, and promoting global free trade, often by resolving conflicts among 18 stakeholders. I was also instrumental in negotiating Free Trade Agreements with Japan, Korea, the US, and the groundbreaking 2015 China–Australia Free Trade Agreement. Finally, I am a Graduate of the AICD’s Company Directors Course, and was Appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2017 for significant service to international business and commerce in the Australian beef export industry.

Kimberley Meat Company was a wholly owned subsidiary of Yeeda Pastoral company, which owned significant pastoral operations in the far north of WA. KMC was the only Processing plant North of Perth and west of Darwin in Australia’s north. - Steered the sale of a Yeeda Pastoral spin-off to a proposed co-operative funded by a government loan. - Although the co-operative did not proceed due to limited producer investment, I guided the plant to achieve $1.3 million net profit in its first six months before concluding my consultancy.
